Patios, Walks and Driveways - Pavers
Not only are Brick Pavers extraordinarily attractive, they make a much more durable surface then most people realize. Properly installed and edged pavers can be used as driveway paving! We install a proper paver base which is then covered with sand and leveled. The pavers are then set in the sand. Sand is then sprinkled over the top of the pavers and a vibrator shakes the pavers to allow the sand to work down in the cracks, locking the whole paver structure together. The main cause of problems with pavers is inadequate edging which allows the sand and paver base to be washed out from under the pavers or allows the pavers to shift. We are very careful with constructing proper edges to your paver project so that none of the base or leveling sand can escape.
Patios, walks and Driveways - Concrete
We also build patios using concrete in various forms. Concrete can be finished with an exposed aggregate surface, where the binding stone is exposed, or with a variety of added aggregate materials to give varying appearance and texture. Concrete can also be colored, and forms can be used to give a look similar to pavers. We can also use precast concrete forms with open patterns (most commonly seen in exterior decorative walls) and fill the open areas with various materials from stones to mulch for a decorative surface that is not quite as smooth, but will allow water to percolate through rather than run off.
Decks, Steps and Ramps
We can build solid and attractive wood decks, steps and ramps for your home. We can build multilevel decks, pool decks, decks with built in hot tubs, decks as second floor balconies, with built in seats, decorative rails, arbors or trellises. If you can imagine it, we can likely build it. Our wheelchair ramps are designed to make it as easy as possible to get into and out of your home. We can build fences according to your needs, including fences that provide a finished appearance from both sides. We can build fences from standard fence panels or stick build fences that are unique, and uniquely attractive. Our fences are built to last. If we build a simple fence using panels and posts, we will attach the panels with deck screws instead of the nails which many fence installer use, so you won't have panels coming loose in a year or two. Stick built fences will have major components assembled with screws for stability and long life. Let us help you plan an attractive enclosure for your yard.
Retaining Walls
Retaining walls come in many types. The most common retaining walls are built with the retaining wall block that you get from home improvement stores. But these blocks have a height limitation of 24 inches. Using these blocks for a height greater than 24 inches requires terracing, which can provide an attractive look, but is not always suitable for the project. In these cases where a higher retaining wall is desired there are a variety of products available to build retaining walls of nearly any desired height.Pool Decks
Do you want to make your above ground pool more attractive? We can build an attractive pool deck around your above ground pool. This will provide a larger deck area for sunbathing, picnicking and other activities, in addition to make your pool installation more attractive.
Gazebos and Pergolas
We can also create an attractive gazebo attached to your deck, or can add a pergola to your deck to provide shade from the heat of the mid-day sun. Gazebos provide an attractive addition to your yard, and make an intimate place to visit with friends or to sit and read. Pergolas are structures that sit over part of all of your deck and provide shade while still being open to the sky. This is done by positioning boards in various ways so that, while not enclosing the deck, they cast shadows over much of the deck surface. It is even possible to make adjustable boards on your pergola so that you can choose how much sun to let in . Another approach often used with pergolas is plant vining plants in planters adjacent to or on the pergola and let the vines grow over the top of the pergola.Built in Grills
We can build a custom brick, block or even a custom concrete bar to contain a built in grill. If you have natural gas in the house we can pipe natural gas to the grill so that you no longer have to bother with propane tanks!Screened Porches and Second Story Porches

Second Story Porches are no longer common, but they were quite popular in the late 1800s. An open or screened porch off of a second story bedroom, is a great delight. You can sit watching the birds and flowers, or rain or a thunderstorm in perfect comfort. Or you can just sit and watch the kids play in the yard. What a delight!
Ponds
Having water on your property has its own special delights. The musical sound of flowing water is a always relaxing, and to see fish swimming in your pond brings a special joy. We can build anything from a simple small pond with a little fountain to a brook coming out of a spring, burbling over rocks as it flows across your property and back into the ground.Bridges
